How many of these women earned their own money without it being made by a man?

    • A.

How many of these women didn’t inherit their wealth from men/family, but earned their wealth the old fashioned way? That’s the list that would be impressive.

      • http://twitter.com/imjazzylicious Jazzylicious

        Oprah did!

        • Spgpress

I said that too!  Now women like her really look phenomenal when you look at women like these who really did not earn per say their wealth..but there are MANY women who did..

        • rejco

Okra went to college on the backs of taxpayers who could not!

          • http://profile.yahoo.com/RFUBOP2DHKYKONHB66TGRND4KI Kristen

Her name is Oprah, don’t be a jerk. How do you know that she went to college on the backs of taxpayers who could not? What because she is black, is that it? Regardless of what you think and feel about her or blacks in general, she worked hard and has earned her wealth in the face of racists and jackasses like yourself. Do you feel good about yourself when you look in the mirror? It seems like you don’t. Grow up and be an adult please and thank you.

            • Shamrock

Kristen, get over your racist self. The comment about her going to college for free was true. It doesn’t mean she didn’t accomplish many things on her own afterward. Keep playing the race card while I lose half my money to support lifelong welfare recipients who pump out babies like animals to keep the cash rolling in. Play that race card. But you can’t play it on Judgement Day.

            • Daveand77

Oprah earned everything that she has nothing was given to her for free. She busted her ass in school to get a scholarship in the midst of severe poverty and abuse. It was not just given to her and people who go to college on tax money usually have to pay that money back. Is,nt  that what America is suppose to be about apportunity. Wall street bankers and oil companies have also made money off the backs of tax payers in one way or another we all benefit from taxes in some way. If you drive a car you have.

            • Rosemary Ferrand

Black people are not the only people in America who are on welfare! you are giving your tax money to your own race and every other race in this country. your people pump out babies like rats!

At some point Paris Hilton will be on this list.

Riches acquired through personal effort give meaning to those who work hard day in and out.May you please bring out that list as well.

      • Cuttergood

These are the people who are looking for a tax break?– in order to accumulate more money that they have no use for except I guess to get bragging rights over some lowly millionaire with only a few bucks to take to the grave. They need to find a meaningful project that would benefit the folks that helped THEIR families accumulate all this wealth. They can’t take it with them and enjoy it, they will be DEAD. Surely they would enjoy seeing it put to good use? I don’t have a lot of money, but I do enjoy helping others, that’s only human.

Probably, if it could be made possible to have a list of richest women and men, who are voluterly willing to assistat building a church, funds to enable us build a Catholic Parish Church in our area, where had been difficulty to do so within a projected period.

We have a church building project in the 4th year period without any success despite our strong building contributions desire of all types!
In case of any responce, proper funds safeguarding procedures should be outlined and followed.
      Thank you.

      • Pooh3kah

your intention is may be good but i doubt your honesty.

      • Cuttergood

Sounds like God is not in your project for some reason. If God was in it, it would come to pass. Check your walk with God for the answers.

Always nice to see scavengers asking for a handout whenever people with money are mentioned.

        • Dari

          shut up please!

      • Terrywalker800

while people are building wealth and attending chruchs you are yet to build a church, Poverty is a curse go with it. G=d is not going to help you ans your stupid rock

      • Prieto7320000

I am going to be completely honest. I sure would love to see money going for religious purposes and then distributed to people in need. There is a people in need in Zimbabwe for example, but there is also a lot of scams coming from there as well. But I have to say that before I build a church I would love that one of this women help me to build my own house so after I take care of mine I can take care of other. Keep it real!!

      • Cuttergood

You think God is needed only Africa or is that a selfish interest of Yours?

    • Hottie5

it’s awfully funny that you don’t read much about these women other than here, while you read how other billionaires have donated half their fortunes.

    • http://www.facebook.com/siddparkar Siddhant Parkar

How many of these are in the Bilderberg group?

    • http://www.facebook.com/acolbertlatham Annette Colbert-Latham

If you will research history, there is no dishonor in women marrying into fortune and the fame of a man.  The dishonor is being a mistress without legal access to wealth.  Women are smart, courageous and determined as these to live their lives with intent of the betterment of humanity.  None of these gorgeous ladies kept the wealth to themselves but they all shared it through charity and charitable causes.  This is why they are to be recognized and celebrated.

      • http://www.facebook.com/jeffjstone Jeff Stone

Oh give me a break their donations represent a small fraction of their wealth.  They don’t even feel it.  I mean even if it was 3/4 of their fortune who cares their lifestyle would be unaffected by it.  I’m slightly more impressed with people who actually donate their time and labor as time is the great equalizer in life.

      • Anonymous

Would a man get respect for marrying a rich woman? I doubt it. Just another double standard.

Oprah ranks 15th among American women but is the wealthiest to have built her fortune from scratch. Indeed only four of the 42 women, or 1% of all Forbes 400 members, are self-made including Gap ( GPS – news – people )’s Doris Fisher and ABC Supply’s Diane Hendricks, who each cofounded a company with her late husband. The fourth is former eBay ( EBAY – news – people ) chief Meg Whitman whose fortune held steady thanks to eBay’s stock, despite the fact that she has donated a record $140 million of her own money to her gubernatorial campaign

Not a single one of those women are self made !!  Its true what they say – Women dotn’have talant !  Women are not as smart  as men are .  Its just a fact . I realy dont know what we need women for ??   For babys ? The best cooks and taylors are all men so …

       Hi,Can we have personal contacts??

    • Kevin Mccarthy

I wonder if they feel cheated out of forever. I know that the feeling of loss and longing made me appreciate life. I love reading and feel like a billionaire when I do. I honestly believe that upon our death God, a he/she/or force, will expect answers to questions and those who enjoyed lavish amounts of money will not have any advantage over those who struggle to make ends meet or those who had no opportunities in life. Best to All, Kev
